About Us
Digital Phone Company Ltd (DPC) commenced trading in 1994 and is East Anglia’s longest established and largest independent mobile phone retailer with eight stores in the region. Throughout our history we have been locally owned and managed and we remain a family-owned business to this day. We have a long-standing strong relationship with Vodafone and are a Vodafone Specialist Partner; able to offer customers our own deals utilising their world leading 5G network.
When buying from DPC you can be assured you are talking to mobile phone enthusiasts, good listeners, and experts with almost 30 years trading in the industry. We are focussed on providing high quality advice with exceptional standards of customer service. Our Customer Care Charter shows our commitment to our customers and is included free of charge with every mobile agreement.
In an ever-changing industry, DPC has always focused on remaining flexible and non-bureaucratic and is therefore able to react quickly to the changing marketplace. We can identify market trends and adjust our marketing and stock holdings accordingly to always ensure we hold the right range of products, which are in demand by consumers.
Maintaining close relationships with the major handset manufacturers in the UK allows us to offer a full range of devices and ensures new devices are added to our portfolio as soon as they launch. Due to our retail high-street presence, we are also able to source a number of older devices where there is customer-demand and therefore can truly find the mobile phone to suit each individual customer. In addition to the major manufacturers, we have relationships with a number of niche suppliers, and we are proud to be able to include their handsets in our portfolio.
Our History
We began trading in Great Yarmouth in 1994, opening our first retail shop on Theatre Plain, with the basement being used as an office. In 1995 we became a Vodafone Partner, and this led to a period of significant growth for the business, opening new stores throughout the region and completing acquisitions to drive our growth strategy.
By 1999 the business was highly successful and required an increase in office space to allow a larger support team for our retail stores. We therefore opened our Head Office on Southgates Road in Great Yarmouth, where we remain to this day.
We are well known for being the main shirt sponsor of our local team, Norwich City Football Club, between 2001 and 2003. This was a key part of our philosophy about integrating ourselves into local communities and showing support for local business.
We are a multi-award-winning business, named Mobile News Awards National Dealer of the Year in 2004 and runner-up in 2005, Mobile News Awards B2B Dealer of the Year in 2010, EDP Business Development Award winner in 2012 and Great Yarmouth Enterprise Award for Customer Service in 2013.
Our brand has developed in the years since we commenced trading in 1994 and the logo has seen a number of iterations, with the current design having been in use since 2006.
We currently operate 8 retail stores and a corporate sales team based at our Head Office in Great Yarmouth. This underlines our position as East Anglia’s longest established and largest independent mobile phone retailer with almost 30 years’ experience of getting people connected.”
Board of Directors
From the Board of Directors down we are passionate people who want to succeed. Our Company is built on the premise of rewarding excellence both in terms of remuneration and promotion opportunities. All our Store Managers have been promoted though the business and even the Board of Directors have worked their way up from the shop floor. We therefore understand our business inside out and can utilise these skills to provide exceptional levels of service to our customers.

Charity & Local Community
We believe that businesses should seek to integrate themselves into their local communities and this was a key factor behind our shirt sponsorship of Norwich City Football Club from 2001 to 2003. We continue to collaborate with local councils, resident bodies and business development committees in the towns where our stores are located. Through this, we have been able to lead on a number of initiatives including technology training, mobile phone advice in local media publications and technology advice for the elderly.
Since 2017 we have supported Special Olympics Norfolk. The Special Olympics is a global organisation that provides year-round sports training and competition to four million children and adults with intellectual disabilities in almost 200 countries. It is recognised by the International Olympic Committee as the third member of the Olympic family, but unlike Paralympics, which is for elite disabled sportspeople, it is for all abilities and all ages. It provides people with intellectual disabilities with opportunities to realise their potential, develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience friendship.
Special Olympics Norfolk currently has around 60 registered athletes with around 100 training regularly. They offer nine sports (and expanding) and are run by a small group of volunteers, supported by sports coaches. Since 2017, we have been able to raise over £20,000 to help support Special Olympics Norfolk in their work and are proud to be associated with this wonderful local charity.”
